Michael K. Anderson is a writer, director and producer currently living in New York City. He has been making films for seventeen years now, starting with the award-winning "Depth of Evil", a 45-minute video he wrote and directed while still in high school in his home town of St. Joseph, Missouri. Mr. Anderson spent his formative years in St. Louis where he worked on dozens of short and feature films as everything from a lowly P.A. to full-fledged producer (and everything in between) learning the trade from the inside out. From 1996-1999, he also worked as a writer and performer for the "The Wonder Show", a mostly-improvised radio program that was part sitcom, part sketch comedy, and part typical morning show. Originating on the college radio station WEBU 660AM, it quickly amassed a cult following catapulting it from its humble AM origins onto a weekly slot at WFUN 95.5FM which continued until WFUN was sold in early 1999. Since moving to New York, Mr. Anderson has continued to work as a freelance artist in video and film, working on projects for PBS, HBO, Showtime, Court TV, the Actors Studio, the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory, the Roundabout Theater Company, Staten Island Bank & Trust, and others. In recent years, Paul M. Leonard ("Battlestar Galactica") and Mark Bristol (Natural Selection) have optioned his science fiction screenplay The Enemy Within and are actively seeking funding. He has also reunited with his "Wonder Show" co-stars Jim Tudor and John Gross to develop and produce a feature film based on their old radio program. An avid musician, Mr. Anderson has also composed the scores to a growing number film projects. |
